Round 1

This week I started my boxing training. I had this in mind a long time ago but I just cannot find time to make it happen. I enrolled in a small gym in Quezon City whose ambiance is a "cowboy" style place which is more hard core! These people take their boxing seriously like its their way of life.

Don't get me wrong, I am not doing this to pick fights and brag. I'm doing this to lose weight and try something new. I'm done with fighting people. It's all in the past. I was very hard headed as a kid. Now, I am more of a LOVER than a FIGHTER! hahaha!

I don't want to be Pacquiao who will risk getting his face shattered in order to get commercial deals, more money for gambling and help out the country. I don't need that shit! If ever I will, then I would do it in other ways. Ways thhat will not only benefit me, but benefit people around me.

In what ways, well as of the moment, I don't know yet. But I will get there.I'm quite positive with the idea.

Going back to boxing. On my first day, the training is a bit light but when I woke up the next day I found it hard to get out of my comfortable bed. hahaha! I was late for work! Damn!!! Then I realized how battered my entire body was. It was worse than my first day in the gym. The ironic thing is, I spent 2.5 hoours in the gym on my first day while I only spent 1.5 hours boxing.

Last Wednesday, I came back for day 2. The training was more intense and my body was hurt again. When I woke up Thursday morning, I had a harder time getting out of bed but I was not late anymore. I trained for 45 minutes but felt like I was training for 4 hours. My fists were swelling and my body was tired. So tired that I stayed outside the gym for a while before driving home.

Later tonight, before going to an office party, I'll go boxing first. You might think that I am crazy with the way my 1st 2 sessions were. But I made a committment to myself and to my trainers. I had broken my word before and it will NEVER EVER happen AGAIN!!!

Crocodile Guy and Paris Hilton

The guy from Discovery Channel, Crocodile Hunter, was killed by a stingray. It's not a good news yet its ironic. Imagine his escapades. He handled crocodiles, snakes and more ferocious animals and he still lives. But not today. Its weird. But hence, since its not his forte, shit happens. I'm not a fan but its sad so hear such news...

"That's Hot!" Say it again and your ass will be sued by the hotel heiress Paris Hilton. Apparently she registered the catch phrase in the IP office somewhere. Why? I just don't see the point. Then again maybe she does not know what to do with all that dough.

Anyway, I have not said that catch phrase... I'll just look at her picture and say,,, Damn she's hot! hehehe...

Being the Brand

My boss was in ANC last week. Half Moon Bibingcrepe was featured in Pia Hontiveros' show. He always kept on telling us, "Be the Brand!" In this case he did. As you can see, he's half bald. Similar to the Half Moon.

This guys sets an example for all of us. When you want people to believe you, you must do it first and show them that you can back up your word!

People may raise eyebrows on what he did. They may think he's crazy or something. Well for those who do, its GUTS!!!

I'm not doing this to kiss ass or something. I am sharing this to everyone who wants to lead. Practice what you preach. Believe in your gut and be not afraid to be unique!

"Wanna hug it out? Let's Hug It Out Bitch!"

A few weeks ago I started to watch Entourage. A series in HBO. I was entertained with the way the story went along. It is the Sex in the City for men. Enough said. What's my point?

My point is one of the characters, Ari is the shark-like agent that handles Vince Chase (Adrian Grenier) a movie star that carries his crew everywhere, has this line that is like that of Paris Hilton's. Paris recently patented her quote "That's Hot!"(http://www.thespeciousreport.com/2005/05050217paris_hilton.html). Aris line is this... "Wanna hug it out? Let's Hug It Out Bitch!" and it paved way for this new series to be peopular. In less than a year's time, Entourage is a hit and its a marketing that worked for HBO. Why US Dream Team Lost

Why did US lose again??? LeBron, D-Wade, Melo why? I'll tell you why! for those who play the game and follow the game, relying on the outside shot is a no no!!! Sure you may win a lot but when the time comes and you throw blanks, you're in deep trouble. And that's exactly what happened in the game against Greece.

Besides the fact that they rely on threes, they have a very small frontline. These forwards and centers may be good, but not good enough! They need size and presence down low. They should have gotten the KG type. Yeah yeah so they did not play for numerous reasons but if given "an offer that cannot be refused", then they might have played.

If they will play like these the next tournaments, I will put my money on the Europeans to beat their asses again and again and again!

2006 SONA- “No to Imperial Manila, Yes to Regional Development”

Impeachment is something normal nowadays. Changing presidents is similar to changing clothes. The true essence of people power is lost. Today, as Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo gives her State of the Nation Address, militant groups are to hit the streets again and voice out their unending dismay of the current turmoil that the country faces.

I'm sure that there will be some form of violence that will occur in this rainy day. Worse, water bombs could possibly hit these protesters.

While the rebels stay out, GMA will speak inside the Batasan Complex. Her speech will contain this slogan/motto/creed or whatever, “No to Imperial Manila, Yes to Regional Development.”

All I can say about this is... It's About Time!

Metro Manila is too crowded. There are a lot of people from the rural areas migrating to Manila that overpopulates the place and thus the other places remain stagnant, undeveloped and poor. The wages remain low in rural areas which results to the alleviation of poverty.

Regional Development is Key. Once rural areas are developed, opportunities will be available to people in these areas and the migration rate will be much lesser than it is today. This would mean that Metro Manila would not be as populated as it is. This would result to less traffic, a decrease in unemployment rate (since more opportunities will be open), and more foreign investments.

Such will truly help the economy of our country in more ways than one. This is a move by the government that could be deeply appreciated by all if it pushes through smoothly.

Teaching Minds, Touching Hearts, Transforming Lives

In my life I dreamt of being a lot of things. A doctor, a basketball star, an actor, a rockstar, the President of the Philippines, an economic analyst, and a business tycoon. But never did I thought of being a teacher. I hated a lot of teachers, made fun of them and was very disrespectful owards most of them. Although I had some teachers that I gave high regard also, I did not plan on being one.

When I entered college, I was so surprised. I was trying to get into a LIA-COM course, which is AB Economics and Business Management. That's what I intended to get in. But for some unfortunate case, I signed up for a wrong course... It was "Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Economics and Bachelor of Science in Commerce Major in Business Management".

Sure the Economics and Business Management are still there. But the education thing made me thing twice. My friends laughed at me learning what had transpired. I was shocked and scared of being someone who made my life miserable and vice versa. I wanted to shift out after my 2nd term since that was the only time a freshman could shift. But for some strange reason, I decided not to.

And thank God I did. More than I hated the idea, I must admit it was a very fulfilling experience. I'm saying this because I experienced it first hand. Before graduating, I was assigned to a school in Las Piñas, Elizabeth Seton School. At first I was so hesitant since one of my friend professors told me "YARI KA! BABALIK SAYO LAHAT NG GINAWA MO NUNG BATA KA!". But I never backed down from any challenge and I saw this one as an ultimate challenge.

Everything went well from my co-faculties, my superiors, and my students. On my first day, all of my students hated me. But the end I left the school fulfilled. I taught high school Economics in Filipino, Religion (No one believes me!), Math, PE, and History. Everytime I go out of a room, I feel very fulfilled seeing my students learn (I have to test them to see of course). Even students that other teachers had problems with, I would still get make them learn.

In the words of St. John Baptist De La Salle, my mission is to teach minds, touch hearts and transform lives. This is my creed. This is what I did.

Now as I left my alma mater for 9 years and move on, I will still have this creed. There are other ways to teaching others' minds, touchingg their hearts, and transforming their lives. I may not be an educator in the formal field, but I am at heart. I will doeverythingg that I can in order for others to get some things from me, how little it may be.
